Ever since the days of the caveman leather has been a staple in fashion in recent times leather has been used extensively by cowboys for protection against dangerous things like snakes and sharp thorny bushes and by aviators to keep them warm in their cockpits.

There is a diverse amount of choices in leather coats and jackets and this can make choosing the right leather coat for you a difficult thing to do. Think about it, you have leather bomber jackets, trench coats, leather blazers, and even belted coats. For women looking for unique leather coats they may want to have a special second one that is more stylish and you can find them in all kinds of different colors, textures, and styles.

Since leather is so versatile and can be dyed to nearly any color you will be able to find colors such as red, pink, green, yellow or blue and a rainbow of other colors. This can be a strong fashion statement that sets you apart from just wearing black or brown and they can also help represent the season. Certain colors are seasonal and may only be in for one season and then go out of style.

Texture is another way to be different from regular leather coats. Normally leather coats will be smooth but you can now find the coats in a variety of textures that can give you a unique look and you can even find jackets and coats made from exotic leathers like snakeskin.

One type of leather that is usually reserved only for shoes is called cordovan and it comes from the part of the hide called the shell. This type of leather maintains a polished look and when found on a leather coat it will stand out among all others that you may find including regular cowhide or even lambskin. These coats are beautiful but be prepared to put out a large sum of money to get one. You will also be able to find leather that has been embossed by putting pressure on a coat and leaving an imprint that resembles the skin of another creature such as crocodile, alligator, and ostrich.

Not only can being aggressive and innovative with your choice of leather coat be a great boost to your self confidence but it can also give you something that will become something you are known by. Having a coat that is so unique can set you apart from everyone else in town and me you feel like the only woman on the street.
